Mr. Fogel possesses over 24 years of senior financial management experience in various capacities for a variety of high technology related companies, including GSI Lumonics, Lilliputian Systems, RNK Communications, and Core-M, Inc. Most recently Mr. Fogel was the CFO of the healthcare IT consulting firm Beacon Partners, and previously was Vice President of Finance and Treasurer at Webgen Systems, Inc., a provider of advanced solutions for building energy management, controls and conservation.
During his career he has had full financial profit and loss responsibility for up to $128 million in revenue. While at GSI Lumonics he was financially responsible for a life sciences/bioinformatics startup that sold for $120 million. The business expanded from startup to $20 million sales in three years and was profitable after the first year.
Mr. Fogel’s core competencies include global financial strategic planning, venture/private equity financing, profit maximization, forecasting/budgeting, and operations management. In addition to being a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Massachusetts. Mr. Fogel earned his B.S. in Marketing from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and has an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Cincinnati.
He is an Adjunct Instructor of Finance at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and is a frequent guest on the WPI Venture Forum weekly radio show. Mr. Fogel is an active member of the Financial Executives International (FEI) Boston chapter, TiE Boston, The Capital Network (TCN) and on the coordinating committee of the annual MIT CFO Summit.
